Kilimanjaro Climbing Tours

Mount Kilimanjaro, located in Tanzania, is the highest mountain on the African continent and the tallest free-standing mountain in the world. It is a dormant stratovolcano made up of three main cones: Shira Plateau (3,960m) to the west, Mawenzi Peak (5,149m) to the east, and Kibo Dome in the centre, which includes the highest point — Uhuru Peak (5,895m). "Uhuru" means "freedom" in Swahili, the national language of Tanzania. The summit is famously snow-capped and surrounded by glaciers year-round.Kilimanjaro was declared a National Park in 1973, officially opened for tourism in 1977, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987, and recognised as a Natural Wonder of Africa in 2013.Routes to the SummitThere are seven main trekking routes to climb Mount Kilimanjaro: Marangu, Machame, Lemosho, Londorosi (Shira), Umbwe, Rongai, and Mweka (used for descent).
